The Newhouse Estate lies on the Hampshire Wiltshire border & on the edge of the New Forest National Park. The 1100 acre estate is largely wooded and is exceptionally rich in wildlife.
An important part of the running of the estate is the management of the large wild deer population. Five of the six deer present in the wild in the UK are seen on Newhouse Estate. The main population is that of Fallow Deer, with a smaller, but still significant population of Roe Deer. The next most numerous is the alien and invasive Muntjac-these are rapidly spreading throughout the UK. There are a small number of resident Sika Deer & visiting Red Deer from the New Forest.
